Carol Owen is Chief Counsel for commercial litigation at TeamHealth, a leading clinician services organization. TeamHealth has more than 20,000 affiliated physicians and advance practice clinicians through which it offers outsourced emergency medicine, hospital medicine, critical care, anesthesiology, and other specialties to more than 3,200 acute and post-acute facilities and physician groups nationwide.
Carol was previously a shareholder at Baker Donelson and a partner at Waller Lansden, where she concentrated her practice in complex litigation and risk management on behalf of clients in the healthcare, financial services, and automotive manufacturing industries. She has extensive experience successfully defending private and government clients against claims of securities fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, waste of corporate assets, and other matters. She has been qualified as a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) and was a law clerk to the Honorable Robert L. Echols, former Chief Judge of the U.S District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee.
